JUST PEOPLES FELLOWSHIP
The Just Peoples Fellowship aims to address the power imbalances inherent in international development, where only 1% of international aid funding directly supports locally-led change initiatives. By backing highly effective local leaders across East Africa, the 10-month fellowship provides support to enhance the international exposure of each fellow and expand their financial ability to achieve their vision.
Fellows are selected for their powerful vision and their proven ability to make a tangible, culturally sensitive, and sustainable impact on poverty-related challenges within their communities.
The 2024 fellows co-designed the program alongside the Just Peoples team to address their identified barriers to visibility and incorporates visibility strategy development, organisational support funding and curated connections to aligned international donors. The program aims to ensure each fellow can share their work on a global stage, in their own voices, and create connections that expand their capacity to drive profound change for their people.
